    The vacuum setting allows you to infinitely adjust the final vacuum and thus the suction capacity. The vacuum gauge shows the set vacuum. The ATMOS LC 27 and the ATMOS LC 27 Battery cannot be operated when in motion and therefore need to be kept stationary when operated. Single-patient secretion canister (DDS): The single-patient secretion canister is fastened to the side of the device and connects directly to the suction unit by means of the Direct-Docking-System (DDS).

    2.0 Notices for your safety The safety of the ATMOS LC 27 and the ATMOS LC 27 Battery complies with all the recognized rules of technology and the guidelines of the Medical Products Law. 2.1 General safety instructions Make yourself familiar with the device in good time, so that you are capable of operating it when it is needed.

    • Ensure that no liquid penetrates the device. In case that liquid has penetrated the device it may no longer be operated. In this case clean the device and send it in to ATMOS for repair. • Always place the device on firm, level surface. The device must always be in a vertical position, when you use it.

    3.0 Setting up and starting up Please observe that insufficient battery charge can result in damage to the battery. 1.      Operation status display  The battery charge level of the ATMOS LC 27 Battery must be visually monitored by checking the indicator.  If only the red LED lights up, although the battery has been loaded for a longer period, the battery is defective.

    8. Replace a defective mains power unit immediately. 9. ATMOS LC 27 Battery: Charge the battery fully, see chapter “3.3 Charging the battery” on page 17. 10. Operate the device only with the bacterial filter cartridge inserted and with the single-patient secretion canister system connected. The device is delivered with the bacterial filter cartridge and the single-patient secretion canister system already inserted and connected. Always keep an extra bacterial filter cartridge on hand.

  • Page 19  Recommendation: Before beginning suction, fill a little water (around 10 - 20 ml) into the single-patient secretion canister system. This will prevent secretions from drying into crusts. 1. Place the canister lid onto the single- patient secretion canister. 2. Hold the single-patient secretion canister in place with one hand and screw on the single-patient secretion canister lid by turning it clockwise with a quarter turn.

    3.6.2 Notes on the DDS bacterial filter cartridge  The DDS bacterial filter cartridge is located between the device and the single-patient secretion canister system. It consists of a hydrophobic bacterial filter and the blue holder with white seal. The bacterial filter cartridge effectively protects the device from oversuction and contamination.  The bacterial filter cartridge is designed for use on a single patient.

    3.6.5 Connecting the suction hose with DDS adapter and fingertip 1. Insert the blue adapter on the suction hose into the opening on the single-patient secretion canister lid. 2. Turn the blue adapter clockwise with a quarter turn. 3. Now, check that the suction hose is connected firmly to the single-patient secretion canister system.

Remove the single-patient secretion canister system by pressing and holding the release button on the control panel and taking the single-patient secretion canister system out to the side. 2.
