RF Module Upgrade

Upgrading an existing 700/800/900 series FlexNet trunk or bridger amplifier to a Flex Max901e
involves the following steps:
To prepare the power supply for the Flex Max901e RF module upgrade

CAUTION Arcing between the RF module and centerseizure assemblies will damage
the unit.

Refer to Table 3.2 on page 3-6 to determine if you can operate a new RF module with an
existing FlexNet power supply.
Ensure that you have completed the necessary power supply upgrade requirements before
proceeding.
Note The Flex Max901e RF module requires a minimum 2.3 A power supply and uses
a 12-pin connector. FlexNet 700 series amplifiers used 9-pin connectors. To prepare for
the Flex Max901e RF module upgrade, it may be necessary to use a cable adapter
(9-pin to 12-pin) or upgrade to a new power supply (P/N 122027-05). If a cable adapter
is needed, refer to Cable Adapter (9-pin to 12-pin) Installation on page 3-9.
