11. In the Open window, locate and double‑click the new firmware file, which has an .eff
extension.
NOTE: The file listed in the File name field is an example only and not an actual
firmware file for the devices.

ATTENTION:
• The extension of the firmware file must be .eff. Opening a file with an incorrect
extension may cause the device to stop functioning.

NOTE: The original factory‑installed firmware is always available on the device. If
the attempted firmware upload fails for any reason, the unit reverts to the factory
version.
On the Add Device... window, the path to the new firmware file is displayed in the
Path field (see figure 22,
