Switching output configuration
Configuration of the switching output(s) is performed using the OLED display and the keyboard (see chap-
ter 3.4 "Configuration / menu structure") or using the IO-Link, for example via the Sensor Studio configura-
tion software (see chapter 8 "Connecting to a PC – Sensor Studio").
The following configuration settings are only available via IO-Link or with the configuration software Sen-
sor Studio:
• Switching mode (default: Auto-teach)
• Window width (only with activated Window-teach, where ≠ 0)
• Analysis depth: to suppress interference, changing of the switching output is delayed by this number of
identical measurement results
• System commands for teach actions
With most teach actions, the switching mode is switched over automatically:
• Automatic mode (Auto-teach): the teach point depends on the previous position of the switching
points (see chapter 7.2.2 "Teaching the switching outputs").
• Window mode (Window-teach): a window whose width is determined by the upper and lower
switching point or by the window width is stretched symmetrically about the teach point (see chap-
ter 7.2.2 "Teaching the switching outputs").
• Teach-in of the upper and lower switching point: particularly suitable for teaching the window width
for the Window-teach.
Two button operating modes with the lower switching point at the lower measurement value limit:
• Object mode: the teach object only just triggers; switch-off if the distance increases.
• Background mode: teach-in relative to the background, i.e. the teach object does not quite trigger;
switch-on if the distance decreases.
