Measure modes
The measure mode is set according to the given requirements and the application via the display or using
the configuration software Sensor Studio.
The measure modes differ with respect to the response times of the sensor. Generally speaking, the higher
the response time is, the more precise the measurement result will be.
• A higher response time presupposes the possibility of measuring an object for a longer period.
• The measurement results are output at the interface every 3.4 ms, irrespective of the set measure
mode (except in the Outlier suppression measure mode).
In the table, you will find an overview of how the choice of measure mode affects the individual parameters
of the measurement function.

Note: The number of measurements de-
termines the response time in the case
of fixed measurement value output (ev-
ery 3.4 ms).
Blocked central value filtering across buf-
fer sizes from 5 to 300. With 30, updating
of the measurement value takes place
every 100 ms.
Adjustable filter depth:
• Coarse, averages approx. 75 % of
the central measurement values
• Medium, averages approx. 50 % of
the central measurement values
• Fine, averages approx. 25 % of the
central measurement values
