1. Look at the
indicator to confi rm that the paper
cassette assembly is installed.

The indicator is not lit when the paper cassette assem-
bly with the printing paper, and ink ribbon are in-
stalled.
2. Open the ribbon door, and remove the ribbon cartridge.
3. Load the cleaning cartridge into the printer, and close
the side door.
The CLEANING indicator begins fl ashing.
4. Press the [CLEANING] button on the front panel of
the printer.
The CLEANING indicator remains lit, and about 30
cm (11.8 inches) of paper is ejected from the printer.
The CLEANING indicator begins fl ashing again after
the paper is ejected.
5. Remove the protective paper from the back side of the
cleaning sheet (the side without an illustration).

Be careful not to confuse the back and front sides of
the cleaning sheet.
6. Determine by the width of the print paper the orienta-
tion to affi x the cleaning sheet, and affi x the cleaning
sheet evenly and squarely onto the ejected paper as
illustrated.
When using the 2UPC-C54/C58 series printing pack,
orient the cleaning sheet lengthwise rather than cross-
wise.

Firmly affi x the entire cleaning sheet so that the cor-
ners do not peel up and the center is not raised. If the
corners of the cleaning sheet peel up, cleaning may not
be performed properly.
7. Remove the protective paper from the front side of the
cleaning sheet.
