Features
1.31.1 Computer Telephony Integration (CTI)
Description
Connecting a personal computer (PC) to a DPT, or connecting a Server PC to this PBX, enables extension
users to make use of advanced features by using the stored data in the PC or the Server PC. The features
that are available through CTI depend on the CTI application software used on connected PCs.
There are two types of CTI as follows:
1)
First Party Call Control
2)
Third Party Call Control
1.
First Party Call Control
A PC is connected to a DPT using a USB port (USB Module) attached to the DPT. The PC monitors
the status of the DPT and controls the DPT.
PBX
DPT
2.
Third Party Call Control
A Server PC is connected to the PBX using the USB port on the PBX or using the CTI-LINK card as a
CTI interface. PCs monitor the status of the PBX and control the PBX via the Server PC. When a call
is received, the server PC can be used to decide call routing, and to send information about the call to
the destination extension user's PC. So, for example, if the call is from a customer, that customer's
account information can be shown automatically on the screen of the PC at the same time as the call
is received, depending on the CTI software used. In Third Party Call Control, the PC does not control
extensions directly.
