Entry and Arm/Disarm Reader

AEC has the option to configure a reader as a normal door access reader and acts as an Arm-
ing/Disarming reader at the same time. In order to achieve dual operation on the reader,
there are certain settings required.
The reader should first be configured as an Entry and Arm/Disarm reader, followings the steps
below to setup the reader:

NOTICE!
There is an addition setting available which is the Door Buzzer. When a reader is configured

as an Entry and Arm/Disarm reader, the buzzer control for the reader will need to be rewired
to a spare output on the AEC 4 Reader board. See following wiring diagram for an example on
Reader 1 wired as an Entry and Arm/Disarm reader.

10. The following shows the wiring requirement of Entry and Arm/Disarm Reader for a HID
Bosch Security Systems
In the AEC software setup, select the Card Readers page and choose the reader.
Select Entry and Arm/Disarm Reader option.
Select an Alarm zone from the drop down box, this will be the zone that the reader will
arm and disarm.
Click on the
button to save your setting.
Click on the I/O Settings to configure the I/Os of the reader
At this point you should configure all the settings related to the door access, such as door
strike timer, door contact, door strike, etc.
Choose the output that is wired to the reader buzzer control and save the setting.
Complete the rest of the setup as per a normal door access reader.
You need to configure the cardholder to be able to arm/disarm the reader. Please refer to
AEC software manual for configuring an Arm/Disarm card.
