Secure/Communication Card
This chapter will describe the connection of the Secure/Communication Card with other com-
ponents of the system as well as a brief introduction of the use of the Secure/Communication
Card.
The main function of the Secure/Communication Card is to house the SAM (Secure Access
Module). The SAM holds the license to the number of authorised Login Users (Server License
only). Without the SAM the Access Easy Controller will not be able to function.
The second function of the card is to provide communication between the CPU and the
Reader boards and I/O cards via the Convertor cards. It has a RS485 port that will communi-
cate with the Convertor Cards at 9600bps.
