Chapter 5 – Pre-Operation Inspection
Inspect For
Ensure none have been place on the machine
Match the carriage installed and legible
No damage or deformation, proper operation
In protective case and legible
Welds intact, no cracks, misalignment, damage
or deformation
Straight and in place to prevent forks from
changing position or coming off the carriage
No wear or leaks
No leaks, damage or deformation
Straight, no damage or deformation
No punctures, cracks, cuts, gouges, bulges,
foreign objects, or any other damage to tires
No loose or missing lug nuts
No bent flanges or other damage to rims
No low tire air pressure
No cracks, are clean and properly adjusted
Proper level. Add if necessary
No loose or damaged belts, hoses, or radiator
fan blades
Coolant reservoir at proper level. Add coolant
if necessary.
Engine oil at proper level. Add engine oil
if necessary.
No damage or deformation to electrical wires
and connectors
No leaks, damage or deformation
No leaks, damage or deformation
Terminals free of corrosion
Case free of cracks, melting, or damage
In place and legible/no damage.
Replace if necessary.
No trash, debris, or any loose items
Pedals and non-skid surfaces are clean and
free of grease, oil, dirt, snow, or ice.
