PPENDIX ONNECTING TO
ConveyLinx-IO supports PROFINET I/O and can be used as a remote I/O module to any Siemens Profinet I/O
capable PLC. ConveyLinx-IO only exchanges 2 input bytes and 2 output bytes with the PLC so it uses very little of
the PLC's available I/O memory.
Connecting ConveyLinx-IO to Siemens PLC requires a GSDXML file to be installed into your
Siemens TIA Portal programming environment. Please refer to www.pulseroller.com for
downloading information.

Once you have the appropriate GDSXML file installed into your TIA Portal programming environment, ConveyLinx-
IO will support Topological discovery and Media redundancy. The configuration parameters (i.e. the equivalent
parameters shown in the chart in section Configuration Assembly on page 59) can be found in the "Properties" of
the device under "Module parameters" tab. The configuration data bits have been segmented into simple Boolean
check box selections as shown below in Figure 36 .
