Getting Started Guide

Connecting the Analyzer

To ensure that the analyzer operates correctly, you need to make the
following connections:
Install a Tap on the WAN link
Connect the analyzer's Ethernet
Connect the PC to the Network
This section shows you how to make these connections.

Installing a Tap on the WAN Link

You have to connect the analyzer's measurement interface to the WAN
link that you want to monitor. To do this, you need to install a WAN
Tap or Y-Cable on that link. A WAN Tap is a passive wiring device that
provides a method of directly viewing traffic on the link
A WAN Tap or a Y-Cable is required to connect the analyzer to the
WAN. You can use another vendor's Tap or a Fluke Networks WAN
Tap, which you can purchase separately from Fluke Networks. To
obtain a Y-Cable, contact Fluke Networks (see "Optional Accessories").
