4.2.1 Assembly of both covers
(see Illustr. 12, 13)
Insert cover housing at an angle as shown
and then push other side down. Lock
cover in place with the finger clips.
Close both covers!
4.3 Function / Sealing test according to DIN EN 13564
Close the motorized backwater flap (4)
by pressing the flap close button on the
control unit. Manually lock the second
flap by closing and locking the emergen-
cy closure lever (3). Unscrew the red ½
inch test plug (1) on the cover and
connect the supplied see-thru test funnel
(2). Add clear water into the funnel until
the water level inside the funnel reaches
the 10cm mark (this may require signifi-
cant filling of water since the Staufix®
FKA body must first be completely filled
with water before the filter level is rea-

Caution:
- When removing both covers make sure both closure levers are in the open
position – this serves to use the leverage of the levers.
- When replacing both covers, both closure levers must be in the vertical
position.
- When replacing the cover, the red flap lever must always be in the Closed
setting

the 10cm mark and record how much
water is required to keep the water level
at 10cm. If no more than 500ml of water
was required to keep the water level at

then the valve is considered tight.
After the test re-open the manual closu-
re lever (3). Remove the filter (2) and re-
place the red test plug (1). Make sure the
test plug is firmly screwed to assure that

flap by pressing the flap close button which
will re-open the flap.

optical sensor and remove the sensor. Dip
the tip of the optical sensor into a glass of
water. The motorized flap should automa-
tically close, the audible alarm should
sound and the LED on the control unit
should blink. Remove the optical probe
from the water. As soon as the probe is
taken out of the water, the motorized flap
should re-open and the audible alarm and
LED should go off.
Replace the optical probe with its gasket
back into the Staufix® FKA housing, repla-
ce both screws properly.
