    4. Inspection and Maintenance 4.1 Inspection The backwater valve should be checked on a monthly basis by the owner or a represen- tative of the owner. The manual closure lever should be shut, locked and re-opened multi- ple times. Please make sure that after the in- spection that manual closure lever is in the Open position.
