Any person installing, operating, maintai-
ning or repairing this system must have
the appropriate qualifications.
The operational reliability of this system
can only be guaranteed if the system is in-
stalled and operated appropriately. The
technical limits of this system must not be
exceeded.
This system operates on electrical cur-
rents and contains rotating mechanical
parts. Not following all of the safety regu-
lations could result in damage to the unit,
injury or possible death to the operator.
All related DIN, VDE, local and national
safety regulations must be followed du-
ring the installation, operation, mainten-
ance and repair of this system.
This system is comprised of several com-
ponents. Please follow this entire instal-
lation and operating manual. The entire
system should be disconnected from
power before any installation, maintenan-
ce, inspection or repair is done to any of
its components. During this time an acci-
dental re-connection to power must be
prevented.

This entire system has passed a strict quality control inspection before leaving the factory. Upon delivery, please make sure that
the system is complete and that none of the components are missing or damaged. In case damage did occur during shipment or
a component is missing, please go to the 'Guarantee' section of this manual.
This installation and operating manual contains important information that must be followed during the installation, operation, main-
tenance and repair of this system. Prior to any work on this system by the operator or service personnel, the entire contents of this
manual should be read and followed.
The installation of the KESSEL Ecolift system are contained in the separately delivered user's manual (Number 010-844).

Safety Instructions

This system must not be installed
or operated in areas designated
as explosion risk areas.
The control unit is powered by electrical
current and should not be opened during
operation. Only a certified electrician
should conduct any work on the interior of
the control unit. The definition of certified
electrician is defined in section 0105 of
the VDE guidelines.
It should be insured that all electrical com-
ponents and cables of the entire system
are not damaged and always in perfect
operating condition. If any part of the sy-
stem is damaged the unit should not be
commissioned or if already in operation
should be immediately disconnected.
Any changes made to the unit should first
be discussed with the manufacturer. Any
replacement parts or accessories must
be supplied by the manufacturer. Using
replacement parts or accessories not
from the manufacturer could void the war-
ranty and also limit or eliminate any

claims due to damage or injury resulting
from this action.
The unit must be equipped with a Resi-
dual Current Device (RCD) with a maxi-
mum measured current fault of 30mA.
Notice
Before any service, maintenance or re-
pair work is done to the unit or
the control unit the power must
be disconnected!
1. Unplug unit!
2. Press the Alarm button on the con-
trol unit for at least 5 seconds until
a signal is heard (the battery func-
tion is now deactivated).
