You can add a heating step of ambient temperature +5°C to +115°C to
a protocol. The heating block is preheatable but no cooling can be
carried out. All PLEX-ID SP plates can be heated.
There are two different kinds of interchangeable heating blocks
available, for 24 Deep Well plates and 96 Deep Well plates
(Table 3–1).

Warning The heating block surface can be hot, whereby there can be
risk of burns.
You can only use the following 24 and 96-well plates for heating:

Shield plate

To install the shield plate, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the power is switched off.
2. The shield plate has to be installed prior to use of the instrument.
Use a hexagonal screwdriver (Allen key) to fasten the two screws
(Figure 3–17).
