BATTERY/CHARGING SYSTEM
BATTERY
• BATTERY REMOVAL
Disconnect the negative cable.
Remove the strap.
Disconnect the positive cable.
Remove the battery case w i t h in battery.
• TESTING SPECIFIC GRAVITY
The specific gravity of the battery must be
checked w i t h a hydrometer.
F U L L Y CHARGED:
1 . 2 6 0 - 1 . 2 8 0
Charging is required for specific gravities below
1.220. (20°C/68°F).

Ttie battery contains sulfuric acid. A void
contact
with
skin,
eyes,
or clothing.
Antidote:
EXTERNAL-Flush
with
water.
INTERNAL-Drink large quantities of wa-
ter or milk. Follow with milk of magnesia,
beaten egg or vegetable oil. Call phy-
sician
immediately.
Eyes:
Flush
with
water and get prompt medical attention.
Batteries produce explosive gases. Keep
sparks, flame, cigarettes away. Ventilate
when clwrging or using in enclosed space.
Always shield eyes when working near
batteries.

NOTE
Replace the battery if sulfation is evident
on the cells, or if pastes have settled
in the b o t t o m .
