Kernel Installation - Avid Technology FastServe Playout Setup Manual

To load the Centos 7 Restore image:
1. In the BIOS boot options, set USB at the top of the boot order.
Boot > Legacy > Boot Type Order > USB.
2. Press F10 to save the configuration and exit BIOS.
3. Insert the USB Flash Drive (UFD) into one of the USB ports on the back of the FastServe |
Playout server.
4. Restart the FastServe | Playout server.
5. Select the Avid CentOS 7 installing option from the list by pressing Enter.
6. The CentOS 7 system is being installed. Once the installation is finished, the FastServe | Playout
server will automatically be rebooted.
7. Change the boot order back to its original state, by going to BIOS boot options and moving the
USB drive lower in the hierarchy.
8. Unplug the UFD device from the USB port.

Kernel Installation

If your Linux is freshly installed, download the newest available kernel.
