Stopping Components from Autostarting

Sometimes for some debugging or low-level maintenance, it is recommended to stop VideoEngine
from autostarting.
Whenever the VideoEngine process on Linux is closed with the: killall VideoEngine command, the
AppStarter component restarts it.
To prevent AppStarter from restarting VideoEngine:
1. Open the following directory:
Cd /data/AppStarter/bin
2. Disable the automatic restart by typing:
./set_sutostart.sh VE off
Killall VideoEngine -9
3. To make sure VideoEngine is not running type:
ps -A | grep VideoEngine
If VideoEngine is not running, nothing should be returned.
After completing the maintenance tasks, make sure to enable the automatic startup functionality.
To enable VideoEngine autostart:
t
Open the following directory:
Cd /data/AppStarter/bin
Enable autostart by typing:
./set_autostart.sh VE on
Use the "top" command and the WebSettings to verify if VE was started correctly. If not, try
pressing "Restart" button from the WebSettings.
