Inspecting Components for Damage

Once you have verified that all of your components have been shipped, you must verify that they are
not damaged.
To inspect components for damage:
1. Visually inspect all of the hardware components listed in the previous section to make sure that
none of them were damaged during shipment.
2. If you received a hardware component that was damaged, contact Avid Customer Support.

Hardware Components

Linux 7.4 Server Hardware

The FastServe | Playout UHDS server ships with:
2x 1-Gb and 2x 10-Gb Ethernet ports,
4x USB ports (2 front panel / 2 back panel),
1x VGA maintenance port,
1x XLR LTC input,
Reference Input and Loop,
The FastServe | Playout server has two redundant power supply modules that set the voltage
automatically in range 100 V - 240 V at 47-63Hz.

FastServe | Playout Front Panel

The front of the FastServe | Playout server provides access to sixteen (16) media drives for UHDS
model servers. The servers also contain activity LEDs, and storage error LED, two USB sockets and
the Power button.
Each drive can be locked and unlocked with the use of a key that is provided with your server.
Components
All FastServe | Playout UHDS model servers contain the following:
Sixteen (16) 3" 1 1TB or 2TB SATA2 media drives for storing data.
Two (2) system drives. The
externally accessible, mirrored system drives for the operating system
and application software.
Four (4) DVG cards for playing video.
64GB RAM memory.
2x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2680 v4 @ 2.40GHz.
