INFORMATION
The single-sided muscular work required by a body harness may result
in muscular strain.
Please instruct your patient that such single-sided muscular stress should
be compensated for accordingly. The attending physician should be
consulted regarding this issue.
2.4 Function
• 10A19 =* Above-Elbow Harness
• 10A20 =* Below-Elbow Harness
These body harnesses are available in two designs:
• *= 1 with perlon cable
• *= 2 with steel cable
2.4.1 Movements for Controlling the Body Harnesses
Function
Artificial hand control with body-
powered prosthesis
Elbow joint locking / release (with
21A19 only)
Flexing the Forearm (with 21A19
only)
The harness is designed so that the function of the prosthesis remains
unaffected by normal movements.
3 Handling
Proper body harness fit determines sensory feedback for performed acti-
vities as well as the transfer of harness system control.
Movement
Move one or both shoulders for-
wards.
Extend the neck
Move the whole prosthesis for-
wards, anteversion of the residual
limb
