4) Pull the axillary protector on the 21A29=* Axilla Loop.
5) Temporarily connect the unshortened axilla loop to the prehensile cable
(fig. 3)
Flexion cable pre-assembly
Guide non-elastic strap from the contralateral shoulder below the prehensile
cable diagonally downwards to the amputated side (fig. 4).
For optimizing the perlon cable guide, you can attach the 21A16 "D" Ring
to the inner side of the humeral section (fig. 4, item A).
Component attachment preparation
1) Secure all strap connections with additional artery clamps.
2) Check the body harness for proper fit. The amputee should be able to
pull the perlon cable at a sufficient length through specific body move-
ments (section 2.4.1). Measure individual paths of the control cable
with a marking on the cable. Re-adjust the straps of the body harness
if necessary. The prosthetic components are only connected when the
body harness fits properly.
Connecting prehensile cable
1) Mount the eylet cable retainer for attachment and guide of the cable
housing on the outer side of the forearm section. Make sure that the
radius of the cable housing is not too small. Adjust the cable housing
length by shortening if necessary.
2) When using an Ottobock system hand, use the system hand cable with
a threaded sleeve or clamp sleeve (not included in the delivery). When
using an Ottobock cable control hook, use 21A13=1, 21A13=2 or 21A14
Connection Pieces.
3) Shorten the cable of the body harness to the proper length. Screw the
cable to the threaded sleeve or clamp the clamp sleeve with the 736Y6
Clamping Tool. Connect the sleeve to the connection piece. The spiral
nut located on the bowden cable can be used to adjust the length of the
prehensile control cable. Always only use the spiral nut on the forearm
section for this purpose.
Connecting lock cable
We recommend to use the corresponding 10Y19=* Screw Coupling for
connecting the lock cable of the body harness to the elbow joint.
