Instruct the patient in the handling and care of the product.
Instruct the patient to see a physician immediately if any exceptional changes are noted (e.g.
worsening of the complaint).
5.1 Size Selection
1) Determine the torso length.
2) Measuring point A is approx. 3 cm below the cervical vertebra C7.
3) Measuring point B is approx. 2 cm above the gluteal cleft.
4) Determine the orthosis size (see size chart).
5.2 Adaptation
1) Remove the back pad (see fig. 1, item 3), the shoulder belt (item  11) and the waist strap
(item  5) from the back plate (item  1).
2) Cold shape the back plate (see fig. 7). In doing so, adapt the back plate exactly to the shape
of the spinal column while observing the specified measuring points (A, B, see size chart).
Avoid cavities and contact pressure.
3) Reattach the back pad with hook-and-loop.
4) Attach the shoulder belt following the numbered sequence of the strap guide loops (1 to 4)
(see fig. 3).
5) Attach the waist strap using the strap guide loops (5 to 8).
5.3 Application
CAUTION
Direct skin contact with the product
Skin irritation due to chafing or sweat formation
Do not wear this product directly on the skin.
CAUTION
Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to improper or excess
ively tight application
Ensure that the product is applied properly and fits correctly.
If not prescribed otherwise by the physician, we recommend wearing the orthosis daily
for 1 to 2 hours in the acclimatisation phase and to restore normal muscle strength. The
daily duration of use can be gradually increased in the course of therapy in consultation
with the physician.
The orthosis is applied according to the backpack principle.
To make it easier for patients with restricted mobility to put on the orthosis, the optional torso
braces (see fig. 1, item 6, see fig. 9) can also be used.
>
The patient is standing.
1) Open the plastic buckle (item 10) of the shoulder belt (item 11) and then the hook-and-loop
closure of the waist strap (item 5) on one side of the abdominal pad (item 9), either on the
right or left.
2) Put on the orthosis on the back (posterior) and position the back plate (item 1) with the back
pad (item 3) so that it fits the back.
3) Position the abdominal pad (item 9) in the centre of the abdomen and fasten the hook-and-
loop closure of the waist strap (item 5). The pad has to fit firmly around the body.
4) Adjust the shoulder belt and waist strap to the proper length using the hook-and-loop pads
(item 2). INFORMATION: By removing the plastic buckle, the shoulder belt can be
shortened on both sides using scissors (see fig. 8). Reattach the plastic buckle using
hook-and-loop. The closure is in the centre of the body.
