MAINTENANCE
EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Anti-wear plate and/or piercing tip replacement:
To replace the anti-wear plate (U) and/or the piercing tip (V), it is necessary to unweld them from the
movable jaw (Q).
Before beginning the replacement of the anti-wear plate and/or the piercing tip, it is necessary to remove
the primary upper blade (Y) because heating the product in the intervention area could damage the
blade.
Gouge out the anti-wear plate and/or piercing tip, taking care not to damage the seat.
Grind the surface and bring it back to optimal condition.
Position the new anti-wear plate and/or piercing tip and fix it with small sections of welding.
Check that the position is correct by activating the movable jaw.
Preheat the area to a temperature of 150 to 200 °C.
Weld the anti-wear plate and/or the piercing tip.
Once the operation is completed, smooth the outside edges of the piercing tip and let cool slowly before
putting the attachment back into service.
After replacement, adjust to restore the tolerances with the guide blade.
FRONT BLADE
Definition:
The front blade (D) is located on the front of the frame (A) and has the function of improving the penetration
of the movable jaw (Q).
Adjustment:
Slowly move the movable jaw (Q) and check the play between tip blade (Z) or the piercing tip (V),
depending on the model, and the front blade (D). Make sure that it never exceeds 0.4 mm (it is initially
adjusted to 0. 1 5 mm).
Insert an adequate number of shims.
If excessive play remains despite the use of all the shims, it is possible to rotate the front blade (D) for a
maximum of 4 times.
If the front blade is very worn, it must be replaced.
Replacement:
If there is still excessive play despite the use of all the shims provided (H) and after having rotated it, it is
necessary to replace the front blade (D).
REMOVE the worn front blade and all the shims by loosening the locking screws.
Install the new front blade without inserting the shims.
Repeat the adjustment of the play between the front blade (D) and the tip blade (Z), or the piercing tip (V),
depending on the model.
If, after the replacement of the front blade (D), the play is still excessive, even with the use of all the shims
provided, it will be necessary to replace the tip blade (Z) or the piercing tip (V).
PRIMARY AND SECONDARY BLADES
Definition:
The primary and secondary blades (B, C, X and Y) are located on the front of the frame (A) and the movable
jaw (Q) and perform the main cutting function.
