MAINTENANCE
SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE
LUBRICATION
The frequency of lubrication must be determined as a function of the operating conditions. The attachment
must be relubricated before or after a long period of inactivity. This is especially true for the winter break. Take
care that no detergent penetrates the rolling system or damages the gasket seals.
ROTATION THRUST BLOCK LUBRICATION
Once the attachment is mounted on the operating machine, lubricate the rolling system and the teeth (Fig.
6.4.1). For this operation and all subsequent lubrication, only use lubricants that are acid-free, contain resins, are
not hygroscopic, resist aging and with a temperature range suitable for the use of the bearing as in the table
shown below (Table 6.4.2). The purpose of the complete greasing is to reduce friction, create a seal and protect
against corrosion. We recommend that you grease in such a way that grease comes out of the labyrinths of the
bearing or seal gaskets. There are synthetic spacers between the revolving bodies in the rolling tracks: the use of
aggressive products changes the properties of the grease, corrodes the rolling tracks and damages the spacers.
ATTENTION!
More frequent lubrication is recommended in tropical environments and in places that are damp, dusty,
impregnated with impurities and subject to sharp jumps in temperature.
IMPORTANT!
At the end of use under water, disassemble the hinges and carefully clean the pins and bushings to
eliminate any trace of oxidation before lubricating again.

LUBRICANTS
We have checked the compatibility of the greases
shown in the table with the materials used for spacers
and gaskets and consider suitable for use in the
bearings. For this reason, a user who wants to use other
lubricants from this shown here must obtain confirmation
from the supplier or maker that the selected lubricant is
suitable for use and has characteristics at least
corresponding to those of the greases shown in the
table. Use at low temperatures requires special
lubricants. The maintenance technicians are responsible
for determining the quantities of lubricants necessary for
the rolling system and teeth through scheduled checks
of their state of lubrication.
