MAINTENANCE
EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Replacement:
If there is still excessive play despite the use of all the shims provided (L) and after having rotated it, it is
necessary to replace the guide blade (E).
REMOVE the worn guide blade and all the shims by loosening the locking screws.
Install the new guide blade without inserting the shims.
Repeat the adjustment of the play between the guide blade (E) and the tip blade (Z), or the anti-wear
plate (U), depending on the model.
If, after the replacement of the guide blade (E), the play is still excessive, even with the use of all the shims
provided, it will be necessary to replace the tip blade (Z) or the anti-wear plate (U).
The tip blade, or anti-wear plate and piercing tip (depending on the model)
Definition:
The tip blade (Z), or anti-wear plate (U), associated to the piercing tip (V), is located on the front of the
movable jaw (Q) and has the function of penetrating the material to begin the cut. While the tip blade is an
interchangeable component, the anti-wear plate and piercing tip are welded directly on the movable jaw.
Tip blade adjustment:
There are no adjustments on this component.
Piercing tip adjustment:
Partially close the movable jaw of the attachment so that the piercing tip (V), located on the movable jaw
(Q), meets the front blade (D).
Slowly move the movable jaw (Q), and check the play between the piercing tip (V) and the front blade (D).
Make sure that it never exceeds 5 mm (it is initially adjusted to 0.5 mm).
If the play is higher than required, proceed as follows:
Before beginning the reconstruction of the piercing tip, it is necessary to remove the primary upper blade
(Y) because heating the product in the intervention area could damage the blade.
Preheat the intervention area to a temperature of 150 to 200 °C.
Deposit fill beads, depending on the degree of wear of the piercing tip, to achieve the original shape of
the piece.
Check that the reconstruction is correct by activating the movable jaw.
Once the operation is completed, smooth the outside edges of the piercing tip and let cool slowly before
putting the attachment back into service.
If the piercing tip is very worn, it must be replaced.
Tip blade replacement:
To replace the tip blade (Z), loosen the locking screws.
Remove the worn blade and install the new tip blade.
