Chapter 3: Connecting the PA300-CN System

Connecting the Federal Signal Microphone (P/N 258B8577-03)

The Federal Signal microphone provides high-quality voice reproduction in for public address over
the siren speakers. The microphone push-to-talk switch overrides all siren functions, except radio
rebroadcast, for instant PA use. The microphone connection is not required for the siren to operate
properly.
See Figure 3.14. To connect the microphone cable to the control pad, insert the modular telephone-type
plug in the microphone jack on the back of the control pad until it locks.
For instructions on adjusting the PA volume, see "Setting the Gain for Public Address (PA)" on page 32.

Connecting the Federal Signal Remote Microphone (Model MNCT-SB)

The Model MNCT-SB microphone connects to the 1/4-inch jack on the siren amplifier though the
4-foot RMK cable. The microphone connection is not required for the siren to operate properly. The PA
volume cannot be adjusted with this option. The remote microphone kit is purchased separately.
