DRIVE UNIT

(references in figures 7.9/A - 7.9/B)
The drive unit basically consists of a geared motor fitted with a torque limiter and a drive shaft with a system for
tensioning the transmission belts.
ADJUSTING THE TORQUE LIMITER
The function of the torque limiter is to ensure perfect coupling between the motor and the pinion. If problems arise in
the transmission during machine operation due to normal wear the torque needs to be adjusted.
Proceed as follows:
- Loosen the screw (15) with the Allen wrench provided, as a result the ring nut (16) will be blocked.
- Turn the ring nut (16) clockwise to increase the torque of the limiter.
- Fully tighten the screw (15).
ADJUSTING THE BELT TENSIONER
The belts that transmit motion may slacken over time. Therefore tension them as required by performing the following
operations:
- Loosen the self-locking nut (17) that secures the pin of the tensioner.
- Loosen the nut (18).
- Turn the grub screw (19) with the wrench provided to adjust the position of the tensioner.
- Fully tighten the nuts (18 and 17) in the order given.
