7.5.2

ADJUSTING THE KNURLING STAGE FOR ALUMINUM CAPS

(references in figures 7.5.2/A - 7.5.2/B)
Irregular knurling may result if the fixed and movable tools are not perfectly synchronized with each other. These cases
are shown in figure 7.5.2/B.
To adjust the stage:
- Loosen the two nuts (5) with the wrench provided.
- Release the pinion (4) using the pusher (14) provided.
- Slightly tighten the nut (5) without fully securing it.
- Put in the tool (15) and block the pinion (4) with the screw (16).
- Turn the shaft by placing the wrench (17) on the front attachment until perfect timing is achieved.
- Turn in both directions by making small movements according to the type of error previously found.
- Secure the pinion (4) in place by fully tightening both nuts (5).
- Take off the tool (15).
