ADJUSTING THE RADIAL POSITION OF THE SPINDLES

(references in figures 7.5.1/A - 7.5.1/B - 7.5.1/C)
The radial position of the spindles, that is the distance between the movable tools (11) and the fixed ones (12) is
extremely important for correct cap production. The distance needs to be checked and adjusted regularly. The
operations that need to be performed are identical for both aluminum and plastic caps the only thing that changes is
the value that has to be checked.
CHECK
(references in figure 7.5.1/C)
- Check the distance between the movable tools (11) and the fixed ones (12) by placing a thickness gauge (13) in the
median zone of the tools.
VALUE TO BE CHECKED
Aluminum caps
0.25 mm go
0.30 mm not go
Plastic caps (figure 7.5.1/A)
X + 0.05 mm go
X + 0.10 mm not go
ADJUSTMENTS
(references in figure 7.5.1/C)
- Loosen the wedges (7) for the spindles by loosening the screws in question.
- Turn the spindle by working on the flange (8) with the wrench provided.
- Check the distance with the thickness gauge (13).
- Secure the wedges (7) in place once the adjustments have been completed.
WARNING!
E0004P
The spindles move up (away) when turned counter-clockwise, When turned clockwise the spindles move down
(nearer). See figure 7.5.1/B. Make slight movements when turning using the mark on the drum and the one on the
flange (8) of the spindle as references to check the movements.
