INSTALLATION

Once the machine arrives make sure the environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) meet those
determined and agreed upon when the machine was purchased as the machines are constructed according to this
information.
4.1

SHIPPING AND HANDLING

HOW THE MACHINE IS DIVIDED
The machine is divided into units as required to facilitate shipment and installation.
WEIGHTS AND OVERALL DIMENSIONS
The weights and overall dimensions of the individual units, according to shipment requirements, are approximate and
given for reference purposes only.
SYSTEMS FOR LIFTING INDIVIDUAL PARTS
The best systems for lifting and handling the heaviest and largest parts as well as those that require special care and
tools provided by Sacmi are shown in figure 4.1.
Use suitable lifing equipment and ropes (refer to fig. 2) to hoist the machine body (1). The ropes should be attached
to the machine base at the four points indicated (A). If the machine body comes disassembled, proceed as follows:
Fit the washers (2) over the screw (1) and secure the rope (3) to the screw and nut (4). Fit the screw into the hole (A)
and tighten it lightly. Only the nut (4) is to be fully tightened so as to allow the rope (3) to move freely. Before hoisting
the load, make sure the ropes are securely attached to the machine frame at points (B).
When lifting the smaller parts and packages, be careful and use the most suitable equipment observing the safety
precautions. Use extreme caution when handling the crates both inside and out, using equipment that is able to support
the weight of the crates. It is fundamental that the user weighs all the parts to verify their exact weight when they arrive
on site.
PRECAUTIONS TO BE OBSERVED WHEN LIFTING PARTS
- Use lift equipment that has an adequate range of action and lift capacity suitable for the dimensions and weight to
be sustained.
- Protect the points where the belts come into contact with the machine with cardboard or rags.
- Gradually set the load until it is perfectly stable.
- Make sure the path to be followed by the hanging load is clear of persons or things.
- Slowly lift and move the load using extreme caution, avoid swaying it to even the slightest degree.
WARNING!
E0004P
The manufacturer shall not be held responsible for damage to equipment or injury to persons resulting from failure
to observe current safety precautions regarding lifting and handling materials inside the factory.
The parts must be lifted and handled only by authorized persons who are specialized in carrying out this type of
operation.
It is vital that no persons are near the suspended load and/or within the range of action of the lift equipment while
the machine is being lifted and moved.
- Follow the instructions for lifting the parts given in chapter 3, SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND PRECAUTIONS.
- The load must remain perfectly level while it is being moved regardless of the lift equipment employed.
