To Use the Microphone

To modulate the RF Generator using the optional microphone (HP part number
08920-61059):
1. Connect the microphone to the MIC/ACC connector.
2. Access the RF GENERATOR screen.
3. Enter the carrier frequency in the RF Gen Freq field.
4. Enter the RF Generator's Amplitude.
5. Select the Output Port (RF IN/OUT or DUPLEX OUT).
6. Connect the selected output port to your receiver or antenna.
7. Using the Mod In To field,
select the type of modulation: FM (/Vpk)
enter the modulation sensitivity to a 1 Vpeak signal (usually 1 kHz for microphone
use).

8. Key the microphone to transmit.

MIC/ACC Operating Considerations

Mic In specifications

Input impedance = 100 k
Maximum input level = 10 V peak
Full scale input = 10 mV
Bandwidth is limited to 3 kHz.
The Mic In signal is filtered and amplified to provide a stable deviation-limited
signal to the RF Generator.
