Veiller au réglage du parallélisme
Pour une meilleure stabilité en courbe, les roues arrièresont in-
clinées (carrossage négatif). Comme le cadre n'est pas parallèle
à la chaussée, les variations importantes de longueur du cadre
modifient le paréllélisme.
Les roues n'étant plus parallèles à la trajectoire, les frottements
entre les roues et le revêtement augmentent, occasionnant une
perte de rendement et une usure des pneus accrus. Le trike sans
dispositif d'adaptation rapide du cadre a été réglé en usine à la
stature du pilote indiquée. Les trikes avec réglage rapide sont
réglés pour une stature de 175cm.
Il n'est nécessaire de régler le parallélisme que quand vous rac-
courcissez ou rallongez le cadre de plus de 20 cm, que vous éch-
angez la bôme contre une bôme surbaissée, que vous installez
une fourche suspendue ou changez le diamètre de la roue avant.
Faites régler le parallélisme par un atelier spécialisé.
Réglage de la direction
Les mouvements du guidon sont transmis à la roue avant par
une biellette de direction (1). La biellette de direction est consti
tuée de deux tubes emmanchés télescpiques solidarisés par un
collier de serrage.
Après avoir modifié la longueur du trike, il faut à nouveau régler
l'orientation du guidon.
1. Desserrez las vis à six pans creux (2) sur la biellette de direc-
tion(côté gauche du trike) à l'aide d'une clé Allen de 5 mm.
Positionnez la roue avant sur « tout droit » et maintenez-la
dans cette position.
2. Orientez le guidon à angle droit par rapport au cadre princi-
pal.
3. À l'aide d'une clé Allen de 5 mm, serrez la vis hexacave (2) sur
la biellette de direction.
4. Vérifiez que la direction opère librement en tournant le gui-
don à gauche et à droite jusqu'à venir en butée.
Attention !
Une direction qui n'opérerait pas librement peut conduire
des accidents corporels.

Checking the tracking adjustment
The rear wheels have a slight camber (i.e. tilt inward) for in-
creased cornering stability. Because the frame does not lie par-
allel to the road surface, changes in tracking can result from ad-
justments in the length of the frame. The wheels may no lon-
ger be parallel to the direction of travel so that major friction is
produced between the wheels and the road when riding. This in-
creases road resistance and tire wear.
Trike models without quick-adjust frames are factory-adjusted
to the specified height of the rider. Trike models with quick-adjust
frames are pre-set to a length that accommodates riders of 175
cm (5'9") in height. The tracking must only be adjusted if the
frame length is shortened or extended by more than 20 cm (8 in),
if the front boom is replaced with a lowered boom, if a suspen-
sion fork is installed, or if the front wheel is replaced by a larger
or smaller wheel. Tracking adjustments should only be made by
a qualified bicycle mechanic.
Adjusting the steering
The movements of the handlebars are conveyed to the front
wheel by means of a steering rod (1). The steering rod consists of
two tubes, the smaller of which fits inside of the larger and can
be moved to adjust the length. Their position is fixed by means
of a clamping bolt. The steering rod must be readjusted if the
length of the trike has been changed.
1. Loosen the Allen bolt (2) on the steering rod (left side of the
trike) with a 5mm Allen key. Position the front wheel so that it
is pointing forward and hold it in this position.
2. Position the handlebar so that it is perpendicular to the main
frame.
3. Tighten the Allen bolt (2) on the steering rod with a 5mm Al-
len key.
4. Check that the handlebar has full freedom of movement by
moving it as far as it will go to the left and to the right.
Caution!
Any restrictions in handlebar movement could lead to acci-
dents with possible injuries.
