Siting the Equipment

The equipment is designed for mounting on boiler ducting or stacks in positions
open to the weather. It is fully sealed and requires no further enclosures or
protection.
The specific location of the instrument will depend upon the
application and user requirements, but the following considerations should be
made when choosing a site.
the site must be accessible at both sides of the duct for servicing the transmitter
and receiver
the site should be as free from extremes of temperature and vibration as possible
- permissible ambient temperature range -20
flue gas temperatures should not exceed 300
higher temperatures instrument accuracy will deteriorate
there must be an uninterrupted sight path available between the transmitter and
the receiver
the maximum cable length allowed between the power supply and the
transmitter is 10m
the maximum total cable length between the power supply and the receiver is
25m
See Figure 1 for an illustration of a typical system arrangement.
