Processor and Drive Configurations
This section describes possible Processor and Drive Configurations for the
instrument. Due to continuous product improvement, configurations may vary
according to such factors as manufacturing date and installed options.
The installed memory components, and the procedures for sanitization of the
instrument's memory, differ according to the processor and drive
configuration. Therefore, to identify the correct information and procedures for
your instrument, you need to determine its configuration. Specifically, you
need to determine whether your instrument includes Option PC6, which you
can do by following the instructions in
page 9
There are two possible configurations for MXE instruments, with or without
Option PC6. The relevant characteristics of the two configurations are as
follows:
Disk Drive
All instruments feature a removable Solid-State Disk Drive. For access and sanitization details, see
"Disk Drive Removal Procedure" on page
Note that disk drive units exist in three capacities: 80 GB, 120 GB, and 160 GB.
Memory
All instruments have a common set of memory components, as described in
Components
& Volatility" on page

Instruments with Option PC6 feature a removable SD Memory card. Instruments without Option
PC6 omit this feature. For access and sanitization details, see
