Switching the hob off

– Press the on/off sensor (8) to switch off the
entire hob.
You will hear an acoustic signal and all of
the indicator lights with the exception of the
residual heat symbols 'H' will go out. The
residual heat symbols 'H' will continue to
blink as long as the cooking zones are hot.

CAUTION
Risk of burns!
Do not place any objects on inactive
cooking zones. There is a risk that the
cooking zone could be activated and the
object heated.

Automatic protection settings

The hob has a number of protective devic-
es to prevent it from being damaged during
operation. If the hob is properly installed and
used, these protection settings will rarely be
used.
Automatic reduction in performance
The temperature of the electronic elements
inside the hob are constantly measured using
a sensor.
If the heat increases too much, the hob is au-
tomatically switched off.
Operating time limit
For safety reasons, each cooking zone is pro-
vided with an operating time limit. If the heat
setting is not changed for a prolonged peri-
od of time, the cooking zone is automatically

is activated.
The maximum operating time is set in accord-
ance with the most recently selected heat set-
ting.

During cooking, the heat from the pot is trans-
ferred to the glass ceramic surface of the
cooking zone and the cooking zone becomes
hot. When you switch the hob off, the residual
heat symbol 'H' in the heat setting display will
begin to blink.

A few seconds later, the hob will shut off en-
tirely. All indicators will go out. The residual
heat symbol 'H' will continue to blink only for
hobs that have been recently used.
