CAUTION
Risk of burns!
There is a risk of burns as a result of im-
proper handling of this appliance.
Do not place metal objects such as cut-
lery and lids on the glass ceramic hob.
These can heat up and cause burns.
Always switch the glass ceramic hob off
completely after cooking! Do not exclu-
sively rely on the automatic pot recog-
nition.
CAUTION
Fire hazard!
Flammable objects placed close to the ap-
pliance may ignite easily!
Do not leave temperature-sensitive,
combustible or fi re-hazardous objects on
the hob! If the appliance is switched on
unintentionally they may become mis-
shapen or ignite.
If you are preparing foods in oil, fat or
using alcohol, do not leave the hob unsu-
pervised! The foods may ignite.
Ensure that your food doesn't burn.
If a fi re ignites in your cooking pans: im-
mediately place the lid on them!
Never extinguish burning oil or fat with
water!
If a fi re starts, immediately set all switch-
es to zero and switch off the automatic
circuit breakers and unscrew the fuses.
To extinguish the fi re, use a suitable fi re

a fi re blanket.
Once the fi re has been extinguished,
have the appliance checked by our Cus-
tomer Service (see "Our Customer Ser-
vice" on page GB-24).

off the appliance.
For your safety
Always switch off the hob or cooking
zone yourself if you wish to stop a cook-
ing process. Cancelling the cooking time
limit does not end the cooking process
itself.
If the external cooling fan is defective,
the appliance can quickly overheat. The
appliance can be further damaged by
this and fl ammable objects that are ad-
jacent to the appliance may catch fi re.
In this case, switch the appliance off im-
mediately!
Do not cover the appliance with blan-
kets, cloths or similar, even to protect the
cooking surfaces, as these objects may
become hot and catch fi re.
Only hob grilles or hob covers made by
the hob manufacturer, approved grilles
or covers which are listed in the user
manual, or pre-installed protective hob
grilles or hob covers may be used. The
use of unsuitable hob grilles or hob cov-
ers may lead to accidents.

the appliance may result in injury!
Exercise caution when unpacking and
fi tting the hob. The edges are very sharp.

damage caused by overheating.
Never fi t the hob over an oven without
ventilation!
