The residual limb position, e.g., abduction, adduction and flexion, must be
considered when positioning the socket connector. Proceeding according to
the manufacturer's alignment guidelines is recommended.
Alignment is performed in 2 steps:
Bench Alignment
Static Alignment
The prosthesis and prosthetic knee joint are individually adjusted during
dynamic trial fitting.
To select and adapt the 1E90 Sprinter prosthetic foot, a trial prosthesis is
first fabricated followed by the definitive prosthesis by replacing the test foot
adapter (TF: 4R206) with the sport foot adapter (TF: 4R204).
INFORMATION
For more information on alignment, installation and optimising the pros
thesis, please see the 647H537 Quick Reference Guide as well as the
647G839 (4R204, 4R206 TF Foot Adapter), 647G849 (1E90 Sprinter Pros
thetic Foot) and 647G848 Instructions for Use (2Z500, 2Z501 Outer Sole).
Use 2Z11=KIT
INFORMATION: The connection area of the prosthetic knee joint can be
protected against scratches with the protective film of the 2Z11=KIT during
alignment in the workshop and testing in the trial fitting area.
► Use the protective film as illustrated in the accompanying document for
the 2Z11=KIT.
► Remove the protective film before the patient leaves the fitting area.
5.1 Bench Alignment
Bench alignment of the prosthesis: 1E90 Sprinter
Optimising the Prosthetic Foot Height
The sport prosthesis is fabricated as a trial prosthesis with the test foot
adapter for initial bench alignment. This verifies whether the stiffness of the
prosthetic foot was correctly selected. Then the prosthetic foot height of the
1E90 is optimised to meet the needs of the patient. Movements in the hip
and especially the shoulders offer important information on the optimum
prosthesis length. When the prosthesis length is optimised, sagging of the
shoulder on the prosthesis side while running is avoided. Further information
and exercises are found in the 647H537 Quick Reference Guide.
Bench alignment is performed with the installed 2Z500 or 2Z501 Outer Sole
(spikes not installed!).
