Probe Configuration Tool

After rack mounting the chassis, connecting the required cables, and powering on the probe, use
the configuration tool to complete the installation process.
6.1

Opening Configuration Tool

To set the IP of the RTU-4100 use the latest version of the VeEX Probe Configuration Tool (Ver.
1.3.3) or higher software application and an Ethernet cable.
To launch the Probe Configuration Tool via Ethernet configuration:
1. Connect a LAN cable from the PC to the RTU-4100 RJ-45 interface.
2. Install the Probe Configuration Tool software from the CD provided with the chassis.
3. Navigate to the folder where you installed the Probe Configuration tool.
4. Double-click ProbeConfigurationTool.exe. The Probe Configuration Tool appears.
To launch the Probe Configuration Tool via Serial configuration: (not supported at this time)
1. Connect a RS232-to-USB cable from the PC to the RTU-4100 device.
2. If needed, install the RS232 driver from the CD provided with the probe.
Note: The appropriate RS232 driver must be installed on the PC or the COM port
connected to the probe will not appear.
3. Install the Probe Configuration Tool software from the CD provided with the chassis.
4. Navigate to the folder where you installed the Probe Configuration tool.
5. Double-click ProbeConfigurationTool.exe. The Probe Configuration Tool appears.
