8. Description of Saving System:
A saving system is used internally with the following characteristics:

Min. save percentage
Max. save percentage
Carry over leftover feed
Max. carry over
A saving curve is determined for each feed type which allows the full amount of feed to be consumed 2 hours before end of
cycle. This prevents animals from receiving too much leftover feed.

E=
End of cycle
E-2= 2 hours before end of cycle
DA=
daily amount
L=
leftover feed
0=
not enough saved, do not feed
1=
first visit: animal receives full saved amount
2=
animal receives part of the saved amount
3=
animal has saved more than its maximum portion. The portion will be limited by the maximum portion.
4=
end of saving
5=
last visit's portion is limited by maximum portion again
6=
some feed has not been fed and can be carried over to the next day as leftover feed.
Overfeeding monitoring:
To prevent an animal from eating too much in a certain period, the visit portion is monitored within a timeline.
Milking parlour:
In a 4-hour period, the animal will not receive more than the visit portion. The visit portion in a milking
parlour is the total amount for the milking parlour divided by the number of milking sessions.
Feeding station:
On a new visit, the animal will not receive any more feed if he has already received more than 90% of
the visit portion in the previous hour.
