5.3.1

Rinse water paths

Microorganisms can grow in the water paths of the simulation unit. Use
a large amount of water to rinse the lines prior to the use.
5.3.2

Purging water paths

To reduce bacteria, the water lines of water-bearing instruments of the
dentist element and the Standard or Sprayvit E 3-way syringe of the
dentist element can be purged with water.
In the Purge function, individual instruments are removed from the
holders and held over a waterproof container (e.g. bucket) for purging.
The water paths of all instruments removed are then purged
consecutively.
When purging the 3-way syringe, its water button must be pressed.
Purge the water lines of all instruments:
● Before starting work
● At the end of the work day
If this function is not available, the water paths must be purged
manually, see Purging water paths manually [→ 84]
Preparation
The following preparations should be made before you begin to purge
the water paths.
1. Set all of the instruments to be purged to their maximum water flow
rate. The water regulators under the instrument holder must be
turned counterclockwise.
IMPORTANT
The water flow rate to the instruments is not checked by the
simulation unit.
➢ Make sure that the maximum water flow rate is set for all
instruments to be purged.
2. Put all instruments in their holders.
