Password Policies

You can configure password policies for Admin, User, Meeting, and Remote
Access passwords. These password settings can ensure that strong passwords
are used. Polycom strongly recommends that you create an Admin password
for your system.
To configure password policies:
In the web interface, go to Admin Settings > General Settings > Security

> Password Settings.
Configure the following settings for Admin Room, User Room, Meeting,

or Remote Access passwords.
Setting Description
Minimum Length Specifies the minimum number of characters required for
a valid password.
Require Lowercase Specifies whether a valid password must contain one or
Letters more lowercase letters.
Require Uppercase Specifies whether a valid password must contain one or
Letters more uppercase letters.
Require Numbers Specifies whether a valid password must contain one or
more numbers.
Require Special Specifies whether a valid password must contain one or
Characters more special characters. Supported characters include:
@ - _ ! ; $ , \ / & . # *
Reject Previous Specifies the number of most recent passwords that
Passwords cannot be reused. If set to Off, all previous passwords can
be reused.
Minimum Password Specifies the minimum number of days that must pass
Age in Days before the password can be changed.
Maximum Password Specifies the maximum number of days that can pass
Age in Days before the password must be changed.
Password Specifies how many days in advance the system displays
Expiration Warning a warning that the password will soon expire, if a
in Days maximum password age is set.
Note: This setting is unavailable for Meeting and SNMP
passwords.
