Thisvaluewillremainunlessyoupowerofftheprinter.If youwantto retain
this value even after you turn off the power, store it using the Macro
Deftition function,whichis describedlater.
Notethatyoucanonlychangethisvalueimmediatelyafterloadingpaper.If
you feed paper,you cannotchangethe autoloadingvalue.
Clearingthe buffer/Allreset
The printer stores receiveddata in a large memorybuffer. This creates a
problemwhenyouwantto abandonapnntingjob andrestart:theprintermay
beholdingmoredatainitsbufferthanithasactually printed,andthisunprinted
datamustbe clearedoutbeforerestarting.Turningpoweroff is one wayto
clear the buffer,but themis anotherway:
1. Halttheprintingpmgramonthecomputer.Ifprintingstopsimmediately,
thebufferisclearandtherestofthisprocedureisumecessary.Ifprinting
doesnot stop,continueas follows:

I buttonto set the printeroff-line.Printingwill
now stop, but themmay be data remainingin the buffer.

4. While pressing the I
ON LINE

button down, press and hold the
MODE

button.Continueholdingthesetwo buttonsdown.In one
secondyou willhear a beep toneand the "BUFFER CLEAR" messageon
displaysignalingthat the bufferhas been cleared.
If you hold thesebuttonsmore three seconds,you willhear threebeep
tones and the "PRINTER RESET" messageon the displaysignalingthat
the printerhas been initializedto the power-ondefaultsettings.
5. Releasethesebuttons,make any necessarycontrolpanelsettings,then
set the printerback on-line.
It is essentialtohalttheprintingprogramon thecomputerbeforeyougooff-
line. Otherwise,when you go back on-linethe computerwill start sending
dataagainandtheprinterwillcontinue printing,withmissingdatawherethe
bufferwas cleared.
Selectingtheprint color
Normally,the printerprintswithblackevenif the colorribbonis installed.
Withoutthe aid of software,you can changethe printingcoloras follows:
