PAPER1NSTALLATIONAND USE
Thischapterdescribesinstructions forprintingsuchasselectingpapertypes,
adjustingthe printinggap, and installingpaper.
SELECTIONOF PAPER
Yourprinteracceptsany of the followingpapers:
Singlesheets(cut forms)and stationary
Use the frictionfeed or the optionalAutomaticSheetFeeder.
Fanfoldforms
Fanfold forms have holes alongthe sides and perforationsbetweenthe
sheets.They a~ also calledsprocketforms,punchedforms,orjust plain
"computerpaper".
Printing on or near the perforationsof continuousfanfold forms may
reduceprintingquality,misalignthe fanfoldforms,or causea paperjam.
It is recommended notto printwithinanamaof one inchbeforeandafter
the perforations.
Multi-partforms
You can use multi-partforms that have up to five parts includingthe
originalwhenthe Multi-partmodeis selectedwiththe EDS setting.(For
details,pleasereferto Chapter6.)
Use pmssumsensitivemulti-paxt f ormswithboth sideedgesgluedand a
diffe~nce in thicknessof 0.05mmor less betweenthe sideedges.
It is recommendedto use the bottomfeed withthe optionalPullTractor
Unitto get fine alignment.
NOTE: Careshouldbe takenin colorprintingwithcontinuousmulti-part
forms. Sideedgesof papermightbe damaged.
