FLOW AMPLIFIER
Removal
Relieve pressure before disconnecting hydraulic
and other lines. Tighten all connections before
applying pressure.
Hydraulic fluid escaping under pressure can have
sufficient force to enter a person's body by pene-
trating the skin and cause serious injury and pos-
sibly death if proper medical treatment by a
physician familiar with this injury is not received
immediately.
1. Perform normal truck shutdown procedures. Turn
key switch "Off" and allow 90 seconds for the
accumulators to bleed down. Disconnect, plug,
identify, and tag each hydraulic line.
2. Support the flow amplifier valve and remove the
mounting capscrews. Remove valve.
3. Move valve to a clean work area for disassembly.
Installation
1. Support the flow amplifier and move into position.
2. Install mounting capscrews and tighten to stand-
ard torque.
3. Identify hydraulic line location, unplug lines and
connect at proper location. Tighten fittings se-
curely. Use new O-rings on the flange fittings.

FLOW AMPLIFIER REBUILD

The flow amplifier valve is a precision unit manufac-
tured to close tolerances, therefore complete cleanli-
ness is a must when handling the valve. Work in a
clean area and use lint free wiping materials or dry
compressed air. Use a wire brush to remove foreign
material and debris from around the exterior of the
valve before disassembly. Clean solvent and type C-4
hydraulic oil should be used to insure cleanliness and
initial lubrication.
