CHART 2902. TROUBLESHOOTING HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
Trouble
Landing gear retraction system
fails to operate.
If the retracting solenoid of the pump can be heard to actuate
when operating the gear selector switch, it may be assumed that
the gear control circuit is operating properly and the actuator
c i rcuit should be further checked

Cause
Landing gear actuator circuit
breaker open.
L a n d i n g g e a r s e le c t o r
c i r c u i t br e a ker open.
Landing gear actuator circuit
wires broken.
Landing gear selector circuit
wires broken.
Safety (squat) switch out of
adjustment.
Squat switch inoperative.
Pressure switch inoperative.
Pump
retraction
i n o p e rative (upper solenoid).
— NOTE —
Gear selector switch ground
incomplete.
Gear selector switch inoperative.
H y d r a u l i c
p u m p
i n c o mplete.
Hydraulic pump inoperative.
Hydraulic fluid in reservoir
below operating level.
Battery low or dead.

Reset circuit breaker and determine
cause for open circuit breaker.
Reset circuit breaker and
d e t e rmine cause for open circuit
breaker.
Check wiring.
Check wiring.
Readjust switch. (Refer to
Adjustment of Safety Switch.)
Replace switch.
Replace switch.
solenoid
Replace solenoid.
Check ground.
Replace switch.
g r o u n d
Check ground.
Replace or overhaul pump.
Fill reservoir with hydraulic
fluid.
Check condition of battery.
