or back again.
2. The English system is in use by England and the United States. All other countries use the metric system .
3. Procedure for Converting Inches to Millimeters. (Refer to Chart 9106.)

Example: Convert 1.5 inches to millimeters.
(1) Read down inches column to 1. inches.
(2) Read across top inch column to 0.5.
(3) Read down and across to find millimeters (1.5 inches is 38.10 millimeters).
4. Procedure for Converting Fahrenheit (° F) and Celsius (° C) (Centigrade) Temperature. (Refer to Chart
9106.)

Read number in middle column, if in degrees Celsius (° C), read Fahrenheit equivalent in right hand
column. If in degrees Fahrenheit (° F), read Celsius equivalent in left-hand column.
