Simultaneous Therapy
To ensure a stable contact for both stimulation and ultrasound therapy you must use a
(electrically) conductive ultrasound gel.

7.2 Therapy

Process of Treatment
(1) Select
SONO
(2) Attach the neutral electrode (electrode #1) near the area of treatment.
(3) Apply the ultrasound gel to the area of treatment.
(4) Set the therapy time.
(5) Select the treatment mode with the function
(6) Select the treatment frequency.
(7) If necessary, activate the acoustic coupling confirmation.
(8) Select the desired current mode in the left half of the display <3>.
(9) Set the parameters of the current mode (Stimulation Current Therapy from page 25).
Warning
Take care that the electrodes are by no means touched after the current is
turned up!
(10) Select the function
(11) Attach the ultrasonic transducer to the tissue.
(12) Turn up the ultrasound dose with the dose control <8>.
Note
Due to safety reasons increasing the ultrasound dose after the ultrasound
has coupled (marker appears in the upper status bar <2>) is only possible
after prior turning down the dose with dose control <8>.
(13) Turn up the intensity of the stimulation current with the intensity control <6>.
Automatic Coupling Confirmation
The optical coupling confirmation at both transducer and instrument enables a stable and
efficient therapy. If the ultrasonic waves are badly absorbed by the tissue of the patient,
the light at the transducer will start flashing. Now you can choose between counting the
effective therapy time or running the timer independently from the coupling (setup
menu).
