Direct operation of the VSP 1250 R in combination with other makes of surround receiver

Switch on the VSP 1250 R, your video monitor, the
surround receiver and the source device.
Select the HDMI input on the video monitor (or the DVI
input if you are using DVI wiring).
HDMI sources
If you are using an HDMI source, select the HDMI input
(HDMI1 ... HDMI4) to which the source is connected,
either on the VSP 1250 R itself or using the F VSP
remote control handset. After a brief transition delay you
should see the picture from the source device on your
monitor.
On your surround receiver, select the (digital) sound input
to which the source is connected directly, or to which the
digital sound output of the VSP 1250 R is connected. You
should now also hear the sound from the source device.
Receiver menus with HDMI sources
Surround receiver settings are often adjusted using on-
screen menus. If you wish to display these menus on
your monitor, you must switch the VSP 1250 R to the
analogue video input (AV1 ... AV4) to which the video
output of your receiver is connected; leave it set to this
input while the menu is in use. When you are finished
with the menu, you can switch back to the video input of
the VSP 1250 R to which the source device is connected.
Analogue video sources
If you wish to use an analogue picture source, first select
the desired source device on the receiver, then switch the
VSP 1250 R to the analogue picture input (AV1 ... AV4)
to which the receiver's video output is connected. After a
brief transition delay you should see the picture from the
analogue source displayed on your monitor.
Note:
If your receiver has multiple video outputs which
are connected to the VSP 1250 R, then you
need to select the analogue picture input on the
VSP 1250 R which matches the type of signal
delivered by the
selected. This means: the AV1 input for
standard video sources, AV2 for S-Video, and
AV3 for YUV video sources.
If your receiver features a SCART output, select
the SCART input of the VSP 1250 R.
