ON
The On / Off switch for the machine.
When the unit is switched on, the display lights up and
displays the selected picture source.
Caution:
The On / Off button on the front panel is not a
mains isolation switch, and a few of the machine's
sub-assemblies remain connected to the mains
supply when it is switched off. If you know that the
system will not be used for a protracted period, we
recommend that you isolate it from the mains
power supply by disconnecting the mains plug
from the wall socket.

selects the analogue picture inputs AV1 (Composite) and
AV2 (S-Video).
Note:
If used in conjunction with a B SR 1535 R
surround receiver or DD 1535 R decoder, the
machine selects the source automatically.
AV3/4
Pressing this button briefly (repeatedly if necessary)
selects the analogue picture inputs AV3 (YUV) and AV4
(RGB / Scart).
Note:
If used in conjunction with a B SR 1535 R
surround receiver or DD 1535 R decoder, the
machine selects the source automatically.
HDMI
These buttons are used to select one of the digital HDMI
inputs 1 - 4.
Note:
If used in conjunction with a B SR 1535 R
surround receiver or DD 1535 R decoder, the
machine selects the source automatically.

Front panel controls

This switch allows HDMI input signals to be transferred
directly through to the HDMI and DVI monitor outputs
(DIRECT function). This action by-passes the internal
video processor of the VSP 1250 R. The LED above the
button lights up when the direct function is switched on.
If one of the special formats XGA or CT50HD (WXGA) is
selected as output resolution, the video processor must
always carry out a format conversion; this means that it is
not possible to activate the DIRECT function with these
output formats.

Note:
When you switch from one picture input to
another it takes a few seconds for the picture
from the new source to be displayed. The
transition time is due to the extremely complex
method of connection which is required by the
mandatory HDCP copy protection process.
Note:
If the Direct function is active, the VSP 1250 R
carries out no form of picture processing, such
as scaling, colour matching etc. For this reason
all picture adjustments must either be carried
out on the source device or on the video monitor
when the Direct function is active.
We recommend that you only use the Direct
function with video sources whose picture
format is an exact match for the native
resolution of your video monitor, for example, a
Full HD source with 1920 x 1080 dots to a Full
HD display panel which also features 1920 x
1080 dots.
Note:
